Tragic Loss of Freestyle Motocross Star Jayden "Jayo" Archer
Australian freestyle motocross star, two-time X Games medalist, and proud Nitro Circus member Jayden "Jayo" Archer tragically passed away following a crash in training on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. He was only 27 years old.
Internationally known for being one of the only three riders to successfully complete a triple backflip on his bike during competition, it is reported that he was practicing this very trick when the accident occurred. Archer was the first rider to ever land this trick and was also working towards perfecting a quadruple backflip for a future event.
Reflecting on his achievement of landing the triple backflip for the first time at the Nitro World Games in Brisbane, Australia in November 2022, Archer expressed, "I cannot describe this feeling. This is so much more than a trick to me. I've dedicated my entire life the last three years to this moment."
Following this career milestone, Archer proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Beth King, and they were set to be married later in 2024.
The Nitro Circus confirmed Archer's passing in an Instagram post, honoring him as a passionate, hardworking, and determined individual who pushed the boundaries of what was possible on a dirt bike. Travis Pastrana also shared his sentiments, describing Archer as a great human being above all.
Our deepest condolences go out to Archer's family, friends, and fans worldwide during this difficult time.
