Sporty Commuter Hero Karizma XMR 210 Launched in India
In the Indian market, sporty, small-displacement commuters are currently in high demand. Indian motorcycle enthusiasts prefer bikes with sporty styling, but also want them to have approachable performance and reliable technology. This is because India has some of the toughest road conditions, so it is important for bikes to be durable and easy to repair and service.
A great example of this is the newly launched Hero Karizma XMR 210, a fully faired commuter bike that offers impressive technology and performance. The release of the XMR 210 also marks the return of the Karizma nameplate, which had been absent for nearly three years. In its XMR form, the bike resembles a downsized sport-tourer, featuring a full-fairing, windscreen, and raised clip-on handlebars.
The Karizma XMR is equipped with a 210cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that delivers 25.5 horsepower and 14 pound-feet (20.4 Newton-meters) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The new engine is housed in a steel trellis frame, and the suspension consists of a standard telescopic fork and a preload adjustable rear mono-shock.
For braking, the bike is equipped with an 11-inch (300-millimeter) front disc and a 9.05-inch (230-millimeter) rear rotor. It also features dual-channel ABS, making it the first Hero MotoCorp model to have this safety technology. Unlike single-channel ABS, dual-channel ABS includes wheel speed sensors on both wheels, resulting in better ABS response.
The sporty commuter bike boasts an adjustable windscreen, a first in its class, as well as an LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity for convenient turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, the XMR comes with all-LED lighting, giving it a modern and athletic appearance.
The Hero Karizma XMR 210 is now available in the Indian market in three color options: Iconic Yellow, Turbo Red, and Matte Phantom Black. It is priced at an introductory rate of Rs 172,900 (approximately $2,089 USD), and will later be sold for Rs 182,900 ($2,210 USD).
